This reminds me of a darker verson of some thing you might see from Alec Soth. Its a great composition but what I like the most is the way the photoraph seems to be from the view point of a child, looking through a handrail at his door way to the world. Children don’t know much outside of the home besides school and the door is a huge symbol of moving forward and impending independance.
