Thanks so much for being in touch about the Member Stories shoot.

I really enjoyed reading through the brief. What stood out to me is how clearly it shows the impact Kaiser Permanente has on the people who choose it. These stories show business leaders whose lives and work are easier, more focused, and more fulfilling because their teams are taken care of.

When leaders have the confidence that their people are healthy and supported, everything else runs smoother. They can lead better, think bigger, and help their teams thrive.

These are a few thoughts on the project, my approach, and how I like to work — so you can get a sense of what it might look like if we partnered on this.

Framing the Project

This project is about showing what success looks like when the right support is in place.

Each story represents a different kind of leader, people who take care of others while driving their business forward. The goal is to show them thriving in their own environments, leading with clarity and confidence because their teams have the care they need.

Visually, the work should feel natural and intelligent. Real workplaces, real people, genuine connection. The tone should be calm and focused, with an underlying sense of optimism. Nothing overly polished or performative, just authentic moments that reflect what it feels like when things are working well.

Kaiser Permanente is part of that success. The photography should capture that connection in a way that feels effortless, less about showing the system itself and more about showing the ease and strength it creates for the people who rely on it.

What I Bring

I approach projects like this with a mix of creativity and clear intent. The goal is to create imagery that brings people into the mindset of strong, capable leaders, the kind of people who choose Kaiser Permanente because they care deeply about their teams and want them to thrive.

I work in healthcare quite a bit, which has given me a deep understanding of how to tell stories that balance warmth with professionalism. I know how important it is to convey trust, connection, and quality of care while keeping the focus on people and their experiences. See more of that work here.

On set, I bring a calm, organized energy. I like things to run smoothly, but I also leave space for unplanned moments that often become the strongest images. That mix of preparation and openness helps the work feel natural and alive.

Ultimately, I want every frame to work on two levels. It should be beautiful and consistent for the brand, but it should also remind people of something true about their own lives and work.

How I Work

Before any shoot, I like to make sure everyone is aligned on tone and purpose. Once that’s clear, the rest tends to fall into place naturally. My goal is always to create an environment where people feel comfortable, capable, and seen.

On set, I keep things relaxed and collaborative. I guide people just enough to help them look and feel their best, but I never force anything that doesn’t feel natural. The strongest images usually come from those small, unguarded moments when people are simply being themselves.

Visually, I look for a clean and timeless feel. I lean on natural light when possible and bring in additional lighting when it supports the story. The focus stays on people — their gestures, their confidence, their connection with one another.

That mix of clarity, warmth, and restraint creates imagery that feels real. It reflects what it looks like when good leadership and the right support system are both in place.

Production Approach

I see this as a focused, well-organized production that allows space for real moments to unfold. The goal is to move efficiently through each environment while keeping the tone calm and collaborative.

Each story has its own visual world. Sarah’s might live in an office or meeting space with clean light and modern details. Marcus belongs on a manufacturing floor or break area where teamwork feels tangible. Jenn’s world connects to the clinical side — exam rooms, labs, or spaces that show precision and care. Rob’s story is grounded in small business life, where trust and leadership are part of every interaction.

Even though the locations differ, the tone should feel consistent across all four stories — natural light, a sense of order and optimism, and an underlying feeling of capability and connection.

With the right planning and a thoughtful crew, we can work efficiently while staying open to the small, spontaneous moments that bring the images to life.

It’s about showing what great leadership looks like when people are truly supported.

Looking Ahead

This project is an opportunity to create work that feels real, lasting, and aligned with how Kaiser Permanente helps businesses and their people thrive. The stories we tell here will show what strong leadership and genuine care look like in everyday life.

I’m excited by the clarity and purpose behind this campaign. It already has a strong foundation, and I’d love to help bring it to life in a way that feels authentic, modern, and true to the people it represents.

Thank You

Thanks again for considering me for this project. Reading the creative deck, I was struck by how much it emphasizes authenticity and connection—the same qualities I aim to capture in my work. I’d be honored to bring that approach here and collaborate with your team in telling this story with care and creativity. I look forward to continuing the conversation.

About Me

I studied journalism at the University of Colorado and after graduating I moved to New York, where I got started working as a photo assistant. Today, I shoot for publications like The New York Times and brands like Cadillac, YouTube, Google, and Adidas.

I live with my wife and eight-year-old daughter in the Hudson Valley, New York. When I'm not hanging with the family, I can be found scouring used bookshops for the next addition to my photobook collection or playing soccer with the local team.

Thank you so much for considering my work for this project. I’m excited to speak more about the creative for this campaign!
